Classroom Climate and Equity and Inclusion – Graduate Student Facilitator (CCEI-GSF)

Indigenous Initiatives at the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT) is seeking to hire a Graduate Student Facilitator (CCEI-GSF) to facilitate workshops with Teaching Assistants (TAs) across various UBC faculties. The position is part of a collaboration between CTLT Indigenous Initiatives and the Equity and Inclusion Office (EIO) to support Classroom Climate and Equity and Inclusion (CCEI) TA Training. This position works with a team to support the development and delivery TA Training materials, with the goal of improving Teaching Assistants’ capacity to support diverse students, including Indigenous and equity-deserving groups, while contributing to a supportive classroom climate.  

 

Compensation

  • $30.00/hr for approx. 150hrs.
  • Contract is not based on a regular number of hours per week, but an average number of hours that increases or decrease depending on training and workshop demands.
  • June 2023 – December 2023, with possibility of extension

The position will be situated in the CTLT Indigenous Initiatives team and will work closely with the EIO and other project stakeholders. The CCEI-GSF will be responsible for delivering workshops on Indigenous and equity and inclusion topics. The CCEI-GSF position is suitable for a graduate student with knowledge and understanding of Indigenous experiences, interest in decolonizing education, and knowledge of workshop facilitation.
