Bridging the Knowledge Gap

At UBC and various post-secondary institutions across Canada, instructors have expressed a concern that students are entering their classes unprepared to engage in critical, meaningful, and productive conversations where Indigenous perspectives, values, and worldviews are discussed. Additionally, non-Indigenous instructors have identified that an area of concern is the fear of making mistakes or not knowing where or how to start when integrating Indigenous approaches, knowledges, materials, into their classrooms. As a result, CTLT Indigenous Initiatives have created resources, learning communities, and professional development spaces where this can be explored and support. Some of these include:
